Sonae Capital Industrials acquires majority stake in BeyondComposite

 Sonae Capital Industrials (Sonae, Maia, Portugal) has completed the acquisition of a majority stake in BeyondComposite (Canelas), a Portuguese company specializing in the development and manufacturing of advanced composite materials. This investment is in line with Sonae’s strategy of investing in companies with innovative and sustainable technologies, thus providing BeyondComposite with the necessary resources to accelerate its growth strategy in Portugal and abroad.

Founded by researchers from University of Minho, BeyondComposite develops solutions for mobility applications, such as components for buses and trains, as well as for defense. Through partnerships with national and international companies and associations, BeyondComposite has been able to achieve solutions that drive environmental sustainability and enhance performance efficiency. The company’s approach integrates sustainable materials — such as wood and its derivatives — with high-performance polymers.
