FSJ Tactical specializes in perimeter safety solutions for public sector entities. Experts in protective systems design, customization and installation, the team at FSJ Tactical has developed Walshield, a ballistic-resistant wall panel solution that has recently been implemented in a large Arizona public school district’s educational facility.

FSJ Tactical incorporates Avient’s ThermoBallistic panels into its Walshield systems. Thermally formed with layers of 0?/90? unidirectional E-glass fiber-reinforced thermoplastic composites, ThermoBallistic panels are a lightweight material rated to UL 752 Level 3 protection. Compared to steel and concrete solutions, the reduced weight simplifies the installation process, and the fiberglass-reinforced polymer composition facilitates performance by encapsulating projectiles and preventing harmful deflection and ricochet.

“This collaboration exemplifies how advanced composite materials can make a real-world impact, especially in environments where safety is paramount,” says Brad Schmidt, general manager, advanced composites at Avient.
